- The Panel on Takeovers and Mergers, whose address is 1 Angel Court, London, EC2R 7HJ collects and uses certain Personal Data (as defined in paragraph 1.3, below). The Panel on Takeovers and Mergers is responsible for ensuring that we use Personal Data in compliance with data protection laws.

- information generated through your use of the Panel Website (e.g. any documents downloaded from the Panel Website, searches made on the Panel Website, etc.);
- information we receive or generate as a result of providing our publications or other information to you;
- information generated by us about you in the exercise of our regulatory functions, including during the course of our case work and investigations that relate in some way to you; and
- images of you generated by CCTV cameras in operation on our premises.

- information obtained from employees of third party companies involved in your business transactions that fall within our regulatory scope; and
- information provided by other regulators, authorities and/or related third parties relating to activities falling within our regulatory functions.

- to communicate with you in order to provide you with information about the Panel, the conduct of our functions and our publications;
- to communicate, as appropriate, with other regulators and authorities both within the UK and outside of the UK, in the exercise of our regulatory functions;
- for the management and administration of our organisation;
- for ongoing review and improvement of the operation of the Panel Website and information provided on the Panel Website to ensure that it is user-friendly and informative;
- in order to comply with, and to assess compliance with, applicable laws, rules and regulations, and internal policies and procedures; and/or
- for the administration and maintenance of databases storing Personal Data.
- However we use Personal Data, we will make sure that the usage complies with the law. The law allows us and requires us to use Personal Data for a variety of reasons. For example:
- we have legal and regulatory obligations that we have to discharge, including in relation to the exercise of our regulatory functions;

- with third party agents and contractors for the purposes of providing services to us (for example, the Panel’s accountants, professional advisers, IT and communications providers); and
- to the extent required by law or regulation, for example if we are under a duty to disclose your Personal Data in order to comply with any legal obligation (including, without limitation, in order to comply with our duty to cooperate with other regulators), or to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.
- INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL DATA
- In certain circumstances, we may transfer your Personal Data to locations outside of the UK, in particular where requested by an overseas regulator.
- Where we transfer your Personal Data to any country or territory outside the UK, we will ensure that it is protected and transferred in a manner consistent with legal requirements. For example, this may be done in one of the following ways:

- HOW WE SAFEGUARD YOUR INFORMATION
- We have extensive controls in place to maintain the security of our information and information systems. Files are protected with safeguards according to the sensitivity of the relevant information. Appropriate controls (such as restricted access) are placed on our computer systems. Physical access to areas where Personal Data is gathered, processed or stored is limited to authorised employees.
